Wassily Kandinsky 1866-1944
Wassily Kandinsky was a Russian painter credited as the pioneer of abstract art. Abstract art uses shape, form, colour and line to create a composition which might not look like anything in the real world.
One of his most famous compositions is ‘Squares with Concentric Circles’:
